Head my head under water (or up my ass...whatever) for quite some time (couple weeks) and haven't been reading blogs, let alone updating my own.  Dumping some interesting tidbits here that I had marked for followup:

From Jason Olson, Brandon Furtwangler is blogging.  Lot of great graphics content here.  Subscribed.

From Larry O'Brien, a listing of some free programming books online.  Very Cool.

Powertoys blog talks about Notepad++.  Tried it, like it.  Not replacing Notepad2 yet, but I am keeping it around.  It has potential to be sure, and I'm a sucker for tabbed interfaces.

David Weller has a humorous post about why he likes StarWars: Battlefront.  And he's right.  I am loving the game, got it on XBox.  It's got limited replay value as a pure shooter, and the campaigns can leave something to be desired...basically, it's no Halo.  But it's Star Wars.  And it rules.

David also has a post that points to a study comparing Websphere/Linux to .NET/Win2K3.  I'm still making my way through it, but the cost factor is astounding for something that's free.  I'm not funny enough to make up a Free as in Free <insert x here>, so I won't even try.

We're about to hire a couple of .Net positions.  So these came in handy to check out:
Mike Schinkel on what makes a "Quality .NET Developer"
Johanna Rothman has a new book: Hiring The Best Knowledge Workers, Techies & Nerds: The Secrets & Science Of Hiring Technical People.  I'll check it out I think.

Foo is always great for a laugh or diversion...but this is just so wrong (but feels so right?).  This, however, is probably perfect for tonight since I won't be able to watch The Apprentice.
